Just thought I’d trawl through some of the photos and videos taken this year at home and post them for interest. Enjoy!
An apex box which I installed on my neighbour’s house last year. Sparrows nested straight away, which attracted swifts for this year. It’s a bungalow, without clear flight paths, no caller, next to a road, with overhead cables everywhere!
Compilation of some of the activity on the South elevation, 2 new pairs this year.
Swifts make full use of our daylengths at this latitude. the videos aren’t consecutive, but they leave at 4:38am and return at 10:03pm. First out, last in!
The first nestboxes I installed 10 years ago at home have only ever been used by sparrows….until this year!
